Q. First off, what is a podcast?
A. Well this here will tell you.
Q. But isn’t a podcast just a big, long MP3 file?
A. Yeah, I suppose so. But it’s an MP3 file that’s augmented by the power of RSS - Really Simple Syndication - which allows you to “subscribe” to the podcast. It’s like TiVo for Internet radio: you set up your podcast software properly, and it’ll automatically search for and download new episodes.
Q. So what’s the easiest way to do this?
A. We recommend using iTunes. It’s free, it’s simple and it’s Apple, which means it retains its hipster coolness despite its ubiquity. To subscribe via iTunes, follow the following steps:
- If you don’t already have it, download the most recent version of iTunes. Install it and open the application.
- With iTunes running, come back here.
- Click this sentence. iTunes should automatically take you to the iTunes Podcast directory and dconstruction.org’s listing. Click the “Subscribe” button.

Q. That’s it?
A. That’s it.
Q. Thanks.
A. Don’t mention it.
